Edwina has 18 years of experience working as a General Psychologist. For more than 10 years Edwina has worked as part of multi-disciplinary teams with Mental Health Services and Disability Services. Other roles include being a Resource Officer for Queensland Youth Services for 2 years and for the last 5 years has worked in private practice.
Edwina has supported many people who experience a variety of mental health conditions that include depression, anxiety, stress, panic, grief and complex bereavement, work stress, financial and legal problems, self harm, suicide prevention, OCD, eating disorders, crisis management, relationship problems, couples counselling, anger management, conflict resolution, family breakdown and separation, alcohol and substance abuse, chronic pain, trauma, abuse, comorbidity, disability and severe mental illness. Edwina provides counselling and psychological therapy for people aged between 12 and elderly regarding multiple matters. Edwina has a holistic approach and follows the biopsychosocial model of care that is recovery oriented. Clinical interventions are individually based with the aim of improving mental stability and quality of life. Interventions include psycho education, supportive counselling, CBT, ACT, DBT, Mindfulness, Relaxation, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Wise Choices, Mentalisation Based Therapy and Positive Psychology.
